Jane's first flight (with me at the controls)

On Saturday 14 Dec, we had the annual ICAO day at the international airport. It’s a day when we sell tickets and give rides to children, who are mostly from the capital city of Maseru.

The International airport is 6-7 minutes flight away from where we usually fly out of, at the Air-force base. So, when we flew the planes over for ICAO day, we had empty seats and a short flight for people wanting a quick joyride.

It seemed like a good opportunity to take Jane up on a short flight to see how she liked it. She was excited, and brave, and once we were airborne, a little nervous. She did so great though and it was fun to take her up!

I did have to try and do most things with one arm though, as she was clinging to my throttle arm!

This morning I woke up at 3:40, got to work at 4am, and was airborne by 4:50am. The reason I was so early is that yesterday afternoon I was not able to collect the pastor team, who had been out in the mountains for the last week, due to a storm. I had to leave them another night. So, in order to get the plane back for its normal schedule on time, I left early, collected them, and was back before 7am. I love flying early, so despite the early alarm clock, the rest was great!
